‘Work- Life balance’ is the burning topic in today’s busy
life of all the working professionals and many of us are still struggling to
find the right balance between work and life.
Is there really any balance? When we are so ambitious,
career oriented is it possible to spend time with our family?
Are we running behind Success or Happiness? Can we say that
all successful people are always happy?
There is plethora of questions like this which come to our
mind every day but do we really have proper answers?
Well I myself do not have a proper answer but maybe I can
share few things which can help you to reduce your stress both at work and in
personal life.
- Do not concentrate only on achieving things. Try to enjoy the things you do. Life will be meaningful when you keep both Achievement and Enjoyment in 4 life quadrants- Work, Family, Friends and Self. If nobody pats you on the back today, pat yourself on the back today and help others to do the same.
- Try to look after yourself. “ME” time provides us with that little breathing space so that we are able to gather ourselves and then continue with our day.
- Examine your priorities — and make changes, if necessary.
- Being aware of things that we can do in a situation. Remind yourself that other’s behavior is beyond our control. When we are aware of this we are able to focus on the things that are within our control and only do those things in the given situation which will make us feel satisfied.
If your life
feels too chaotic to manage and you're spinning your wheels worrying about it,
talk with your close friend/partner or with a counselor.
Always remember
the following 5 mantras:
- In life how much you succeed/how much you earn do not forget your family and friends who were there with you when you had nothing. Your family should be prioritized above all.
- Be humble.
- Have self-confidence.
- Believe and love yourself.
- Always wear a SMILE. It will not cost you. :)
